Myfanwy (Min) Hunter is a musician, sound artist, music educator, visual artist, and researcher. As a musician, Myfanwy plays viola and viola da gamba in collaboration with dancers, theatre makers, visual artists and music ensembles. Her acoustic palette includes Contemporary, Classical, New Music, Improvisation and Electronic approaches to music and sound making. Myfanwy's visual art practice encompasses works with paper, light, stenciling, cyanotypes, projection and drypoint etching. She provides one-on-one and group training for adults in TRE to mitigate performance anxiety, increase neural cohesion, enhance stage presence and generally support optimum performance outcomes, whether on stage or in life. Masters Research Assisted Solo - Navigating Relational & Representational Failure in Music-Dance Collaboration. Masters of Interdisciplinary Arts at The Centre For Ideas, Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, 2014-2017. This practice-led project examined failure in private creative practice and in the public domain. The project aims to unpack virtuosic pursuit and to harvest failures - the detritus of attempts to master instrument, stagecraft and compositional endeavours. The project is three-fold and includes 1. A suite of three albums in collaboration with six dancers (SOLOS I:I Viola, SOLOSI:I Bass, Rapture/Rupture) 2. Drypoint etchings reflecting on rupture and repair 3. Interviews with fellows creatives on capacity, failure, virtuosity and potential.
